The New Australian Scout Promise and Law

by YPR Team on August 16th, 2017

With the adoption by the Scouts Australia National Council on the 22nd of July 2017, Australian Scouts now have a choice of two versions of the Promise and a new Law.

The wording for the Australian Scout Promise and Law was developed after extensive research, consultation and feedback from members, incorporating the thoughts and needs of the next generation of young Australians.

    Hi All,
Is there a simpler Joey version of the promise?

Did anyone ever respond to this question? I’m finding that new Joeys are having trouble saying the new promise, to say nothing of their comprehending what it means. Put simply, the language is too complex for a 6yo (now 5yo?) to cope with.

If they don’t understand what we’re asking them to pledge, what’s the point?
